Following the successful launch of its inaugural workshop, the Technology Innovation Centre at IIMCIP (IIMCIP-TIC) conducted its second Build Club Workshop at the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) on March 26–27, 2025. This initiative represents a continued commitment to fostering a vibrant and inclusive innovation ecosystem among student communities across North East and Eastern India.
The two-day workshop engaged over 80 students from diverse academic disciplines, providing them with a comprehensive and hands-on introduction to technology-driven innovation, product development and prototyping.
The sessions was led by Mr. Devasish Sharma, Head of Operations at IIMCIP-TIC and Mr. Shekhar Chaliha, Associate at IIMCIP-TIC. They were supported by resource persons Mr. Vivekanandan M and Mr. Mahesh S from the ITEL Foundation, who guided participants through practical modules and activities simulating real-world innovation challenges.
Adding depth to the workshopUSTM faculty members, Prof. JainulAbudin, Head of the Department of Computer Science and professors Manashee Kalita and Karjan Basumatary, from the Computer Science department where also present at the workshop . These faculty mentors, along with other university staff, played an instrumental role in setting the workshop content and facilitating the launch of the USTM Build Clubaplatform that will continue to support and inspire student towardstech innovation .
With the successful completion of two workshops—first at Assam Don Bosco University and now atUSTM, IIMCIP-TIC is steadily expanding its outreach across Assam, Meghalaya and West Bengal.Through these initiatives, it continues to empower students with the knowledge, tools and platforms necessary to become future innovators and change-makers in the field of technology.
