The journey of IIMCIP-TIC’s grassroots innovation has officially begun with the successful launch of the first Build Club Workshop held at Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU), Assam, on March 24–25, 2025. This milestone marks the commencement of a larger initiative that aims to foster technological innovation and entrepreneurship among students across the North East and Eastern India.
The two-day workshop at ADBU saw enthusiastic participation from 90+ students, who engaged in a series of hands-on sessions designed to spark their interest in tech innovation, product development, and prototyping. The workshop also marked the official launch of the ADBU Build Club, a campus-based innovation hub set to become a cornerstone for student-led innovation and collaboration.
The workshop wasled by Mr. Devasish Sharma, Head of Operations, IIMCIP-TIC and Mr. Shekhar Chaliha, Associate, IIMCIP-TIC. They were joined by expert resource persons Mr. Vivekanandan M and Mr. Mahesh S from the ITEL Foundation, along with faculty members from Assam Don Bosco University, who collectively guided students through the fundamentals of innovation thinking, building early-stage prototypes and understanding real-world applications of technology.
This workshop followed a month-long strategic outreach initiative, during which IIMCIP-TIC signed MoUswith several universities across Assam, Meghalaya and West Bengal. These collaborations aim to establish a robust ecosystem to nurture student innovators at the grassroots level.
With this impactful beginning, IIMCIP-TIC is committed to scaling the Build Club Workshop model across more campuses in Assam, Meghalaya, and West Bengal. The aim is to empower thousands of students to become changemakers and innovators of tomorrow by providing them with the tools, mentorship, and exposure needed to bring their ideas to life.
