Continuing its mission to ignite grassroots tech innovation, IIMCIP (IIMCIP-TIC) successfully conducted its third Build Club Workshop at Girijananda University, Guwahati, Assam, on 28-29 March, 2025. This workshop marks another key milestone towards building a robust tech ecosystem of young innovators across different region.
The event brought together over 50 students, providing them with hands-on experience in technology-driven product development and prototyping. The sessions aimed not only to build technical skills but also to encourage creative thinking, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial mindset among the participants.The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Devasish Sharma, Head of Operations at IIMCIP-TIC, and Mr. Shekhar Chaliha, Associate at IIMCIP-TIC. They were supported by a resource person from the ITEL Foundation, who contributed practical insights into innovation practices and real-world applications.
Prof. Sandip Bordoloi, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Girijananda University, played an instrumental role in aligning the university’s academic vision with the objectives of the Build Club. His involvement, along with support from other faculty members, helped in the successful launch of the Girijananda University Build Club—a dedicated platform that will continue to encourage and support student innovators on campus.
With three impactful workshops completed across Assam and Meghalaya, IIMCIP-TIC is steadily expanding its outreach to include institutions across West Bengal as well. Through its Build Club initiative, the Centre remains committed to equipping students with the tools, mentorship, and opportunities needed to create scalable, impactful technology solutions, thereby laying the groundwork for a vibrant and inclusive innovation ecosystem in the region.
